One sip of this honey mint iced green tea, and you’ll want to kick back and enjoy the beautiful spring weather. All while nourishing your body with clean ingredients, too.
I can’t begin to express the joy and excitement I feel when winter fades away, and spring finally begins. Opening the windows, feeling a fresh, warm breeze and hearing birds chirp always makes me want to sit on the front porch with a nice, cold drink and enjoy the peace. That is my kind of day — no rushing, no cold weather and refusing to be stuck inside.
I’ve always been a sucker for sweet tea, and every time spring rounds the corner, that craving comes right back. But I stopped drinking conventional sweet tea because of the massive amounts of refined sugar in it. With how much I was drinking, I knew that I was getting way over a healthy daily amount of sugar.
This is why I’m so in love with this new honey mint iced green tea recipe. Instead of saying goodbye to sweet tea forever, I just made my own unique, healthier version that, honestly, I like more than plain sweet tea.
With this recipe, spring will be much more enjoyable. Being able to enjoy a relaxing moment while sipping a sweet, nourishing drink is the best feeling there is. The flavor of the mint and green tea complement each other while the touch of raw honey sweetens it to perfection: no fillers, no refined sugars, just pure goodness in a glass.
Healthier Recipes for a Healthier You
Before we get into the details of this sweet recipe, I want to introduce myself. I’m Lindsey, founder of Elderberry Queen and a mom of five boys. Needless to say, things can be a little hectic in my life, especially with six guys to feed every day, including my husband.
My family is my inspiration. I strive to create safe wellness products for the whole family. As well as giving you health tips and advice, and clean, wholesome recipes. That’s what we are all about here at Elderberry Queen: helping you and your family be the healthiest you can be.
That’s important to us because what you eat matters; it affects how you feel and how your body operates daily. That’s why recipes are one of my favorite things to write about. I love finding family favorite meals or treats and adding a healthy spin to them, so you can feel good about what you eat and what you feed your family.
That’s where the motivation to create a healthier sweet tea came from. We all deserve a delicious cold drink that isn’t full of refined sugar, and that’s where this honey mint iced green tea saved the day. After ditching the store-bought sweet tea, we've found this unique spin on iced tea to be a new favorite in our house. Each ingredient is easy to find at the grocery store, and I’m sure you have some in your kitchen already.
These ingredients are all nourishing and beneficial for your body, while still delivering amazing flavor.
Ingredients (serves six glasses):
-
4 cups of water: Boil the water and use it as the base for steeping your tea.
-
2 cups of cold water: Add this water to the tea after it is brewed.
-
2 cups of ice: The ice is used to keep the tea cold and crisp.
-
4 green tea bags or 4 tsp of loose-leaf green tea: Green tea is full of antioxidants, which reduce inflammation. If you want to mix things up a bit, try our loose-leaf green teas, Decaf Mango Tango Green Tea or our Strawberry Breeze Green Tea.
-
¼ cup of fresh mint leaves + extra for garnish: Mint has been known to relieve cold symptoms and support healthy, smooth digestion.
-
¼ cup Local Raw Honey: Raw honey contains many antioxidants, vitamins and enzymes that offer so many amazing benefits to your body, from soothing a sore throat to reducing inflammation.
There you have it: wholesome, wellness-boosting ingredients that create a perfect drink for a spring day. What’s so great about this honey mint iced green tea is that the ingredients are simple and offer amazing health benefits, and the steps to make it are super easy.

There’s nothing worse than discovering a recipe online, only to click on the link and see an insanely long list of ingredients and complicated instructions, too. Yikes, I’m a busy mom, and I like quick recipes that won’t keep me in the kitchen for what feels like years.
This honey mint iced green tea recipe is far from complicated; it’s effortless.
Instructions:
-
Step 1: Start by bringing four cups of water to a boil, then take it off the heat and add your three green tea bags and ¼ cup of mint leaves. Let this steep for 20-30 minutes, depending on how deep you want the flavor.
-
Step 2: After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and mint leaves. Then stir in your raw honey.
-
Step 3: Lastly, add the green tea mixture to a large pitcher, along with the two cups of cold water and two cups of ice. Stir well, garnish with mint if you’d like and enjoy!
